Manager, Events (Concord, NC)

This new, full-time role on our events team focuses on advertising and promotion while executing WRG-promoted, joint venture and other events.

Duties:
* Serve as the on-site manager for assigned events, ensuring successful execution of the operational aspects
   * Develop relationships with track operators and staff to achieve needed goals, such as event operation checklist,  
      competition checklist and other operational requirements
   * Arrange adequate staffing for events as necessary
   * Partner with Series Director to determine event schedule, times and adjustments
   * Create timelines, calendars, credential lists and other items necessary
   * Handle unique event-related needs
   * Manage event materials
* Manage, plan and execute all promotional aspects for World of Outlaws and DIRTcar promoted and/or joint ventures:
   * Utilize a variety of methods such as: grassroots/guerilla marketing; digital advertising; and customer expansion
   * Explore and create new promotional concepts
   * Review effectiveness of promotional campaigns and implement adjustments
* Advise on and support advertising aspects, including new and traditional media
* Partner with the Ticketing Specialist on all ticketing initiatives attached to promoted, joint venture or other identified events
* Partner with the WRG Marketing and Client Services Departments for sponsorship fulfillment
* Work within expense budgets
* Other duties as assigned

Skills:
* At least 5 years of previous event management or event promotion experience, preferably in motorsports
* Demonstrated ability to work successfully within a strict budget
* Bachelor's degree required; concentration in marketing, public relations or sports/motorsports management preferred
* Experience in overseeing, creating and managing advertising and promotional marketing campaigns preferred
* Experience with internet-based marketing, social media promotions and email campaigns desired
* Excellent organizational skills

Notes:
* This role is based in Concord, NC - no relocation assistance provided
* This position reports to the Director, Events and may have direct supervisory duties
* There is an average of 40% monthly overnight travel, with a concentration occurring during racing season. Primarily domestic with potential international.
* This position requires sitting and/or standing for extended periods of time; frequent use of hands to grasp, reach, or feel; occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds; close vision; occasional kneeling, twisting, climbing or bending; use of close vision in natural, artificial and/or low light.
