PR Coordinator (World of Outlaws)

We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic team player to join our PR Team. This position provides opportunity for traditional sports publicity as well as new media public relations and promotions. While this position travels with a specific series most of the time, you'll also see this role at other WoO series, non-WoO events such as Summer Nationals or Super DIRT Week. This is a great position for a hands-on person who balances professionalism with a grass-roots work ethic.

Duties include:
* Traveling to assigned events; providing race recaps immediately after an event; additional and/or extended race reports and/or features as needed
* Utilizing WRG social media before, during and between events to promote shows, update fans and increase attendance
* Providing video and/or audio interviews of victory lane and/or notable participants
* Creating written and/or video and/or audio features for distribution and/or websites; ensuring a continuing supply of features
* Maintaining and updating current statistics on assigned series
* Promoting assigned series to local, regional and national media; proactively establishing and maintaining those relationships to ensure coverage
* Updating points, photos, video and other content on assigned website(s)
* Providing on-site marketing support as needed, including but not limited to: polling, signage, hospitality; fan interaction and guest/sponsor relations
* Other duties as assigned

The right candidate will:
* Have a minimum of 2 years previous journalism, public relations or related experience
* Have a BS/BA in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing or similar
* Be familiar with dirt track racing and be able to quickly learn the language, history and protocols related to the sport
* High comfort level with internet usage; experience with web content management helpful
* Be able to enter and exit Canada
* High sense of integrity, ownership and personal accountability required

This position:
* Is a full time, year round role
* Has a position base in Concord, NC
* Travels approximately 40-95% during the racing season
